Chris Wickliffe, DVM
Lameness, podiatry and farrier work
Dr. Wickliffe first became interested in horses at the age of 13 through the Boy Scouts of America at the Butte Creek Scout Ranch in Silverton, Oregon. This interest soon became a passion leading to his career path as an equine veterinarian.
Dr. Wickliffe earned Bachelor of Science degrees from both Oregon State University in Economics (1992) and Colorado State University in Equine Science (1998). Dr. Wickliffe had the opportunity to become the first student in Colorado State University’s Farrier Program and went on to lead a successful farrier business. He completed his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 2002. Dr. Wickliffe worked at a variety of surgical and lameness veterinary clinics until 2007 when he opened Cascadia Equine Veterinary Clinic. The clinic has since grown to a three-doctor practice focusing on general medicine, alternative medicine, reproduction and lameness.
Dr. Wickliffe has also been a guest lecturer at the Northwest Horse Expo, Oregon State University, Washington State University, Linn Benton Community College, the International Association of Professional Farriers, internationally in Australia and China. He continues to love teaching others whether it is students, veterinarians or farriers.
